Models for the year 2009

Here are some new tank model projects I have planned for the near future

In 1/35 scale

A Japanese M24 light tank The Japanese started using the US built light tank in the 1950's I will be using the old Italeri kit

M4A2E8 90mm Sherman

This will be a what if kit I will be combining an Academy M4A2 diesel engine variant kit with the E8 suspension parts from the Academy M51 I.D.F. Sherman
Then adding the Tamiya T26E3 Pershing turret The T26E3 is the M26

A T34/122 howitzer city assault tank

Another what if kit I will be adding a 122mm howitzer barrel to a 1/48 Hobby Boss T34/85 I will also be adding what was called "bed spring" armor to it

That stuff was added to some Russian armor around the Battle of Berlin time It was added as stand off armor to hopefully defeat the panzerfaust and panzershreck German anti tank rocket launchers I will be leaving off the external fuel tanks at the rear of the tank

To me,those fuel tanks would be a liability during city fighting

I will also be building a T34/76 in 1/48 It's either a CHTZ or UTZM variant It had a rounded turret I will be adding markings for the Kursk battle


Two more 1/48 what if I would love to build is a Sherman III C Y That would be an M4A2E8 with a British 17lbr cannon Maybe add Polish markings

An M4A2 with the 105mm howitzer turret That would be a U.S. Marine tank used in a hypothetical invasion of Japan Thank God that invasion never had to happen


Right now,no after market maker makes the late version of an M4A2 hull in 1/48 that I need It's supposed to be a future release
